with Keegan Sauder
Interviewed by Greg Robinson
What is your entire given birth name?
Leon Keegan Sauder.
Where are you from and what’s an interesting fact about your hometown?
Nelson, B.C. It has a high concentration of schizophrenia and bongo drums.
How close is Nelson to where the Ogo Pogo lives?
Around 3 hours drive from Ogo Pogo depending on how many road pops are consumed. The Ogo Pogo is a large woman with several curves in her back; the scourge of wake boarders since the late 19th century.
At what age did you switch your focus from figure skating to skateboarding?
I was eleven years old. Elvis Stojko’s early retirement from the Olympic circuit left me lost and without artistic direction. At the same time I witnessed melon grabs being done off of a launch ramp. I had found Chin!
What was your most technical move on figure skates?
Either the "Waltz Jump" or "Shoot the Duck". Also at times, tandem dance was expressed.
BS 180
Who was the first person to sponsor the skateboarding of Keegan Sauder?
My grandmother and parents, followed by a company called “Cherry Bombs” which smuggled alternative “medicine” into the U.S.
Out of all your gypsy travels, if you had to pick one place to settle down and call home, where would it be?
It’s hard to imagine home these days…I am technically homeless. But I do feel happy in the mountains of British Columbia.
What are two more questions you’d like to be asked to finish this 10 Q’s?
Ask me some hypothetical crap and then ask me how to circumcise a whale.
Please answer and explain the following: Would you rather do the loop on roller blades or charge the mega ramp on a BMX with your best bro on the pegs?
Well you must be out of questions with one like this rearing its head so I will just say that bombing hills naked, alone, with your clothes stashed at the top of the hill is more fun than both those things.
How do you circumcise a whale?
Four skin divers.
