Your style of skating basically inspired an entire movement in skateboarding. Is there a certain era that best captured how you feel about skateboarding, or do you still feed off the progression of skateboarding today?
I think the early nineties influenced me the most, cause that's when I was coming up, but yeah I'm a fan of skateboarding, so there's almost always something coming out that gets me psyched.

Running your own skateboard companies and managing a full time career, all while being a husband and father is an extremely big task for anyone. You've always been known to work harder and longer than anyone else. It seems like maybe you thrive off that type of hectic schedule. Do you like the pressure, or do you look forward to a simpler life?
I go through phases; sometimes I thrive off of things being hectic and sometimes I feel burnt out. I've been working toward change, so hopefully things will mellow out...or maybe I'm just optimistic.

Where would you like to see skateboarding go in general?
It would be good to see skateboarding continue to thrive and stay in the hands of skateboarders.

After Zero's back to back victories on Thrasher's King of the Road for those 3 years, do you feel like you'd ever want to do another one? Or do you prefer to just leave it as is?
I'd be okay with leaving it how it is, but I have a hard time turning down a challenge.

You've built a career for yourself largely because of your video parts. With the internet and it's instant gratification, do you feel like making a traditional video part is a thing of the past?
I think the turn over rate is much faster these days, so it's harder to stay relevant, but in my opinion video parts are still the most important part of the come up.

GAP TO LIPSLIDE

Speaking of videos, what would you say are your top 5 favorite video parts of all time?
Matt Hensley, Hokus Pokus
Sean Sheffey, Soldier's Story
Frankie Hill, Propaganda
Corey Chrysler, Debunker
Cardiel, Anti-Hero

Zero has been running the Strange World video ads for almost a year now. What should people expect from this video?
Parts from the new guys and footage of everyone with some other trippy stuff like the ads. Hopefully it'll be really different than previous Zero vids.

Can you explain what your thoughts and feelings are for all the donation boards you have?
I want to use the company and it's popularity to give support to causes I believe in. I also feel it gives people a way of getting a new board and helping to make a difference.

A lot of what I hear when people talk to you or ask you questions is in regards to the past. It seems to me that you've still got a lot more to offer for the future. What are your thoughts on that, and what kind of future plans do you have?
I don't have any big plans, just take it as it comes and hopefully learn some crap and keep it going.

Stuck on a desert island and you could only have 1 person, 1 food, 1 drink, 1 CD and 1 skate obstacle. What would they be?
The person would be someone real famous, so people kept looking for us. While I was waiting to get picked up, I'd eat Chick-Fil-A #1's, drink water, listen to Hendrix and skate a 100' wide mini-ramp. that way when i got tired of the mini ramp, I could skate the flatbottom.
